Greeting the interviewer is not required, but it is advisable. Offer a handshake, show a sincere smile and look at him straight in the eye. Avoid looking at the ground –this is a sign that you are not confident.
Give appreciative remarks about the workplace or give positive personal opinions about the office and the staff. This can give you and the interviewer a feeling that you are both at ease with the presence of each other. This can make you feel less nervous too.
